High Performance
Dajoji's chef jackets are built for movement.
Cooking can be described as a sport, requiring agility and accuracy to achieve the best results. Contrary to this, most chef coats are boxy and difficult to move in. Dajoji's jackets, however, are are athletically inspired, allowing for movement without excess fabric. Our coats meet the demands of a professional kitchen and were designed with function first and foremost.
How do the coats allow for mobility?
- The box pleat in the back allows the coat to expand and contract with the shoulders.
- The back “waistband” helps the coat to stay closer to the body in an area where excess fabric could get in the way.
- The wider lower back panel allows for movement in the hips.
- The sleeves have been constructed so that shoulder and arm movement isn’t restricted, yet there isn’t extra length that gets in the way, creates warmth, and needs to be rolled up.
- The lower cut of the neck is cooler and removes any friction from a collar.
- The vertical front seaming allows for movement where necessary, while providing fit where it’s not.
Also, the coats are made of 100% organic cotton you don’t have to worry about your jacket adding to the heat in the kitchen. Cotton is breathable, comfortable, and won’t melt onto your skin – very important when you get too close to the gas stove!
